Welcome to Monster Reviews!

Updates

November 14, 2009

Hello all! This is LilyAnna and I will be helping Terra run the site until her busy life has settled down a bit. We are currently not accepting submissions as we have a humongous pile to go through. We need a bit time to settle down, get organized, and get working. Hopefully, it will not take long as our eager staff members are excited to get Monster Reviews alive and going again but please know that we do have a huge pile of submissions to work through. Hope everybody is okay with that. If you would like to help Monster Reviews by becoming a staff member, please email us at staff.monsterreviews@gmail.com.

Anyway, just dropping a line out that Monster Reviews is still alive. And for those of you who have made a submission before the short hiatus of MR, expect your reviews! (:

This is a severely needed update... but here we go:

Monster Reviews is CLOSED. I, Terra, am no longer available or capable of maintaining a site, and since life hit me with huge bag of potatoes about a month and a 1/2 ago, well, I haven't been able to post this to tell everyone. I have informed my staffers that if any of them would like to take up MR, I would willingly hand over the keys (or passwords really). I won't be handing MR over to anyone that I'm not familiar with, and no, I will not be sending out any more reviews.

Please, don't hate a girl for being busy, and I hope y'all keep writing (and giving each other monster reviews).

PS. It's been fun.

Finally an update! Whoa. I have been busy! Turns out procrastination does not work in college. lol. But Monster Reviews is still alive and kicking. However, since it is "out of season" (being in season would be breaks like summer and Christmas), the site is moving slower. Everyone has a life, so don't get uber upset if you don't your review done promptly. Your story will be reviewed if you send in a submission. Promise. Just be patient. Nevertheless, if you are wanting to know where your review is status wise and it has been over two to three weeks, send me an email at terra.monsterreviews@gmail.com. I'll personally respond to ya. (:

Oh, and stay tuned. I plan on having the funnest month ever for Monster Review during November because it is NaNoWriMo! If you are unfamilar with the term, become familar! Because NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month (i.e. November!), which means Terra will be doing tons of fun stuff with Monster Review to keep writer's writing! Including herself... Also, since I love suspense and lots of juicy secrets, you'll have to keep checking back to find out more about what Monster Reviews will be doing. Until then, learn about NaNoWriMo by typing the word into google search and consider participating! XD

Lastly, anyone who wants to help out at Monster Reviews can drop me an email, but officially I'm not really "looking" for more reviewers.

<3 you.

Graphics are up for staffers! LilyAnna's is "in the works" right now, but otherwise the graphics are spankin' awesome. (: Feel free to ooooh and ahhh over Jenny's fantastic abilities. Also, CassandraRose526 has finally got an a-lister graphics. (This was all me. I was putting off messing with html since the missing staff page disaster.)

News: I'm still on the hunt for reviewers. I have received a few applications, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a shot! Oh, and if anyone does not want to be a reviewer and does want to be a part of the MR Staff, send me an email (terra.monsterreviews@gmail.com), because there might just be something you can do. (:

Lastly, I'm sorry to anyone who has been waiting over two weeks for a review response. I'm seriously pushing it to make the reviews go faster, hence the gathering of more workers. However, there will a review waiting for you in your email sometime soon. XD

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Monster Reviews! A day late... lol. Yesterday (September 2nd) was Monster Reviews month old marker. It's exciting to see how much my site has grown over thirty days!

New things are as follows: we have yet another affiliate! Reviewing the Hottest Romance on Fictionpress, or RtHRoF, is an exciting blog full of personal reviews of the popular stories on FP. Check frequently for new reviews, that way you won't miss out on the new FP "hits." (: Also, I fixed the Staff page! Well, mostly. Everyone is on there, but LilyAnna and Jenny has no bios. o.o

Even newer news is that after a couple days of debating, I decided that I need one or two more reviewers, because I'm trying to get more quality reviews out at a quicker pace.

So if you are interested, then please email me at terra.monsterreviews@gmail.com. I'll send you a packet of info on the position. Also, if you feel like you have some sort of experience or speciality, don't hesistate to share. (:

I believe that I've covered all the bases. Have a great week!

I'm sad. ):

Terra made a mistake where she accidentally erased her staff info page about four days ago, but Terra promises to have it fixed soon. However, until then, please delight yourself my new affiliate: The Fiction and Prose Supernatural Awards. Long name, good site for the supernatural! (Don't worry, I'll be updating the affiliates page.. er, soon with their button link-y graphic. XD)

Also, I apologize if you have submitted a story and haven't received your review back yet. I believe I've managed to keep most under two weeks, but considering how I got a bunch of submissions recently and that school started, well, let's just say we are definitely busy.

Thank you wonderful people of the internet for all your love and appreciation for Monster Reviews. (: Makes a girl proud.

Well, I'm finally in my dorm room and able to set up for tomorrow's grand revealing of the new layout. *inward squee* This week has been chaos: moving, rude people, hate mail, and non-stop nerves. However, we did have something amazingly awesome happen. NnK found an a-lister! CassandraRose526's "Salt and Sweat and Freshly Mowed Grass" earned a 80 and really blew my reviewer and I away with it's simple, yet effective, story line. This down to earth story will definitely make you smile the next time you pass a guy mowing a lawn. <3

New affiliate buttons will be put up tomorrow as well. Please link Monster Reviews around. (: I will begin to search for more affiliates on Monday, because I'm an affiliate whore. *strikes a pose*

Leave me a note of love. I need encouragement! I am so anxious about classes on Monday..

Ahem. Officially, no more staff apps, please. (: Also, I'm super excited to annouce that I have yet another wonderful, super-fantastic a-lister! Heart Lace is a fairly unknown writer with a fabulous writing style, and I have to admit that I'm jealous of her ability to describe things. Any way, Heart Lace's story "An Angel in New York" is only four chapters long and is a work in progress, but in our vigorous review, she scored an 83! Please take the time to read and review her story. <3

Monster Reviews is doing swimmingly, and I'd love to hear some criticism. Also a new layout is in the works, and I can't wait for its debut. Oh, and more submissions are welcomed. Remember! Our reviews are all wonderful sources of criticism for those somehow-something-went-horribly-wrong-and-I-don't-know-what-it-is projects. (:

So leave me and my staffers love, because we rock!
